AN EARLY DESIGN PROJECT

Model: Margaret, Photo: John Frantsen

Before I started my formal education, I attended a computer-course for fashion-professionals at IN-Design in Copenhagen.

One of the projects was to design and create an outfit, to get through the whole process from idea to finished product. I don't remember what inspired me, but it turned out like this asymmetrical two-piece.

My commitment at the course led to a one year working experience as a teaching-assistant and further on to my formal education.

ROME EXPRESS

On our way home from a fabulous cruise, we were fortunate enough to spend three hours in Rome.

Actually we managed to pass by The Spanish Stairs, The Trevi-Fountain and Pantheon on our own express tour through the City. Of course I had to take a few snapshots of some of the fashionable boutiques on our way.

It was very inspiring. We´ve got a taste for more, so Rome is definitely a city to visit again.

IMAGINATION CHALLENGE

-and Inspiration are the keywords of this post.

Customers often have a certain idea and a hard time to imagine something different, that could be a better option. They need to see what they can get, before purchasing it.

That is exactly where designers, tailors and dressmakers get into the picture. If we can describe or illustrate and inspire our clients to trust us and take a chance. We might give them something unexpected, they could not imagine that they wanted and we are all in for a win.

Because, there is so many options and possibilities, when you think about fashion design, cut and colors.

These inverted pictures are just meant as a teaser, to challenge your imagination. I was surprised myself, to see the very different and inspirational nuances of colors for example. Just to say, if you try something new, you might get surprised.

I will leave you to wonder a bit, while I am taking some time-out, going on a Cruise next week.
In the meantime, feel free to comment or explore my previous post via labels. Thanks for popping by.

FASHION & FUSION - A FASHION SHOW

Models: Bettina, Lone and Hanne

Was a fashion-experiment/-event, that took place in the Ceremonial Hall of The City Hall in Odense, 2000. Inspired by the "Dogme"-films, the concept was to make a Fashionshow as simple as possible, which meant no shoes, no make-up etc.

It was quite exciting, because it gave me an opportunity to show what I could do and to get some attention, which is crucial when you´re just starting out.

My contribution to the show, were these three couture-gowns that was standing out from the rest of the participants. But I wonder if  they would still do today? What do you think?
