MY ART PROCESS

My painting process is such a personal journey for me. First and foremost it allows me to contemplate
.
Through contemplation, I realize, understand and express my experiences and point of view into paintings, instead of putting everything into words.

Triptych, abstract composition in acrylic and mixed media on paper.

This process continually allows me to explore new possibilities. I never know where this journey leads me and how it turns out, which is the intriguing part of it.

My inspiration is mainly drawn from impressions of my daily life. There’s inspiration everywhere, when you pay attention. For example: nature, architecture, moods, memories and moments of life. All things that affects me in some way.

I interpret all these impressions and convey them either conceptually or in an intuitive and visual way to evoke imagination and tell an intriguing story.

I am especially attracted to expressive abstract painting.

My approach is often intentional at first, with specific colors and a composition in mind. Especially the colors have such a strong impact - they are drawing me in. I am in another world for a moment of time.

But as soon as I start, intuition takes over and the composition, bold colours, layers and textures often ends up in surprising ways.

A FRAMING EXPERIENCE

Abstract landscapes in oil and cold wax by John F. Clémemt

Before the Corona 19 crisis hit, we went to Omer Deserres to have some of my paintings framed. Finally this past weekend we were able to pick them up.

But not without a surprise! The girl who took the order had messed up the measurements, so the price we agreed on were suddenly 33,59 dollars more expensive. It’s not the amount that matters, but merely the principle.

Because, why do we have to pay extra for their mistake.
With a price of  448,86 instead 415,27 and all the money I’ve spent there previously. In my opinion that is very unprofessional practice and poor customer service.

The guy who handled the sale was of course sorry and offered a 15 % discount on our next framing. Right! -On top of that, they just lost an extra sale.

Will I recommend anyone to have their art framed there - I don’t think so. It was a first and surely last time I will have anything framed at Deserres. And for future Art supplies I will probably go some where else.

I just hope Deserres found it worth it.

UPDATE!
Had a nice phone call from Deserres today. They were so sorry for all this and of course I’ll get reimbursed. Great!
