RED CARPET STYLE

On August 29, the annual Emmy Award in Hollywood took place. Primetime Emmy Awards as it is called, the "Oscar" of Television, took place for the 62th time, 3 weeks before normal, not to collide with Sunday Night Football.

Read more about The Emmy´s on their official website here and take a look at all the actors and the dresses at MSN´s Wonderwall here.

THE RETRO SHOP

In Horsens I found the most fabulous shop with antiques, raw retro furniture and different home acces-sories, that definitely is worth a visit if you are in the area.

It´s all found on markets in France. Very simple and beautiful presented. I will let the pictures speak for them selves.

CATWALKING

We were in Horsens this past weekend. By coincidence they were about to challenge The World's Greatest Catwalk at Copenhagen Fashion Week 2010, that took place recently during the last Fashion Week. That one was as you maybe heard 1,6 km long. But the Event in Copenhagen was met by some criticism, as you can see here.

The Catwalk Horsens ended up beeing 1,8 km all in all. Here every shop of the City contributed with things of everybody's taste. Then I haven´t said to much.

PODIUM

If you are interested in Fashion and lifestyle of the European Royals, you can make a bargain at the bookstore, Arnold Busck right now. You can get Podium, Edition 1 and 2 for just 5,- kr. each.

Even though these books are from the Autumn of 2007 and Spring 2008, they are all about the Events of the time, in the Royal House of Denmark, Royal Castles and Flora Danica.

But there is also portraits of Crown princess Mary, Princess Marie, Princess Diana, Countess Alexandra and Crown Prince Frederik among others.
As well as there is Design reports on the shoemaker of Mary, Dior, Day and the English milliner Philip Treacy.

Originally, Podium was supposed to be released twice a year. But, so far I have only encountered these two copies, so something could indicate that it's no longer the case.

HOMMAGE À CHRISTIAN DIOR

I watched a very nice an interesting documentary from 2005 about Christian Dior last night, the 15/8. A program that goes behind the myth and gave some nice background knowledge.

If you are interested, the link for  DR K is here. Unfortunaly it only shows in a limited amount of time. Take a look at my previous post from the 27. of juli about the Christian Dior Museum in Granville, France.

DANISH FASHION WEEK

If you do not have the opportunity to attend the Fashion week that takes place these days in Copenhagen, you can tune in on Kanal K of DR or Kanal 4 .

I prefer the coverage of the Fashion Week by Kanal K by far, than the coverage by Kanal 4. It's far better and more serious in my eyes. The coverage by Kanal 4 is too shallow and staged.

Where Kanal K's goes a little deeper, let the industry and the fashion people, who have something interesting to say, get the word.

FASHION TENDENCIES

The Fashion Magazine Costume, that first came out in Mai 2002, is celebrating their release No. 100 and because of that, they have an extra addition about the 10 greatest tendencies for the coming season.

Overall, I would call the trends "back to basics". The designers have chosen to focus on simple silhouettes in their collections, inspired by the 50's, classic coats, long dresses, waistcoats, knitwear, fur, velour and colors like white, gray, black as well as beige and blue in all shades.

Inspired by Costume, I too would like to celebrate my post number 50 with a little Give-away. It consists of free consultation, se previous post. You just have to post a comment and I will draw the lots between the participants.

A "ROYAL WEDDING"

Photo: Genevieve De Manio/AFP Getty Images

Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former president, Bill Clinton and Foreign secretary, Hillery Clinton, was married with Marc Mezvinsky this past saturday. Their wedding is probably the closest the Americans is coming to a "royal wedding".

The High Society wedding took place at the Astor Courts Estate in Rhinebeck, two hours drive from New York. Check out more about the wedding here.

There was anticipation to the last minute on which designer would do Chelsea´s nice weddingdress. It was Vera Wang, that is known for her fabulous weddingdresses. The price of the dress was supposedly cost $ 20.000,-. Check out her webpage here.
