ONLINE UPDATE !

A little update from my side. Hope this post finds you well and content.

For a few years I had a FASO website. But, decided to finally cancel it, due to very little traffic and sales. It is hard to be found out there, if you are not an SEO-expert or have a name or a brand.

So, I decided to try a free website from GoDaddy for now:  www.atelierjohnfclement.godaddysites.com

-and go for platforms with other artists, where there is a better chance of getting noticed. After trying out various online possibilities, I finally ended up keeping these:

 https://artsartistsartwork.com/vendor/jfcinmtl/ and www.artmajeur.com

Take a look via the links!

If you by any chance have some recommendations or ideas where to show paintings here in Québec, please share. I would really appreciate it. I am also very interested in collaborations.

THE AMAZONE

I was very impressed by the way former Prime Minister of Denmark, Helle Thorning Smith dressed to the formal Gala event in connection with the anniversary of Her majesty The Queen of Denmark's reign.

She looked bold, beautiful and sophisticated in a dress by Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt.

She was appropriated dressed for the Event, even though a lot of people had a hard time facing her bold choice.

But, if you think she was too much, take a look at yourself. You probably don't feel enough. Maybe there is room for improvement.

add the right credits or remove the Image immediately.

By the way, Queen Sonja of Norway wore a remarkable gown from 1991, quite similar to this one, at Queen Margrethe of Denmark 40th. Jubilee celebrations as a Monarch in 2012. A dress by the late danish couturier, Erik Mortensen of Balmain. See that post here.

ART NEWS

I hope that everybody that are following or reads this, are well.

As mentioned before, I will come back here when something is going on Art wise.

I've got a new website since I last posted on this blog. But if you follow my Instagram, you probably already know that. If not, please check it out and give me some feedback.

Otherwise I have participated in a few things.

In 2020 I participated in ENSEMBLE, 7e DÉFI ARTISTIQUE, an online Art Exhibition from Sept-nov. There is a video on Youtube. My pictures are about 6 min. in.

In 2021, I participated in the Portraits of Resilience Project at the Art Gallery of Ontario AGO, with an abstract painting. It will be highlighted in the coming Exhibition: I AM HERE: Home movies and everyday masterpieces, together with entries from all over the world later this spring.

Hopefully more exciting news to come later this year.

Do you have any questions or are looking for original piece of abstract art, feel free to contact me. I am also open for studio visits; just notify me in advance. Thank you for your interest!

MY ARTIST JOURNEY

Almost two years ago, I decided to change my direction in life. From working with couture to get back to my old passion, painting.

Starseed, acrylic painting by John F. Clément

From an early age I was exposed to the Art world by visiting various art exhibitions with my late uncle, who was an avid Art collector.
Of course, what I did not know at that time, was the influence this would have on me. Though, today it is very clear.

Through the years, I have always had a need and a desire to create in one way or the other.
When I was younger, I attended different creative courses and drawing classes. Later on, I had some classic training at the Art Academy of Funen in Denmark, where I spend a few years.

In 1996, I decided to focus on design and graduated as a fashion designer and teacher from The Couture department at The College of Arts and Crafts in Odense, Denmark.
After obtaining my degree in 1999, I started my own design business in Denmark and later on in Montreal until 2019.
From then on, I finally decided it was time to embrace my passion for Art, by committing fully into painting. Now, it finally feels like the circle is complete. Take a look at some of my paintings here and here.

If you have any questions or are looking for original piece of abstract art, feel free to contact me. I am also open for studio visits; just notify me in advance. Thank you!
